Dear Business and Community Colleagues,
Gary Karp made a huge impact as the keynote speaker at Project Hired’s 2009 Annual Recognition Breakfast. Gary inspired and informed the audience of over 200 attendees from business and the community in Silicon Valley. He opened their hearts and minds and renewed their commitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce. Gary blended humor and statistics, personal experience, and practical facts in his talk. He joked and juggled while he broke down mental and cultural barriers.
Several attendees said they better understood how to interact with persons with disabilities and understand their abilities. They could be more relaxed and less awkward in their approach. Many business members of the audience wanted to hear more and work with Gary in the future. All remembered key points from Gary’s talk.
Gary sets a personal example for everyone to see the potential in the huge, untapped resource of people with disabilities. He has a perfect pitch for a business community audience, and he is the ultimate professional without being preachy. His message is clear — that we all benefit from viewing the person first, not their disability.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Gary to any business or public sector group who wants to build diversity and have a more competitive business or organization.
Best regards,
Marie Bernard, CEO
