Gary Karp’s goal is to enlighten society to the radical changes that have taken place in what he calls “Modern Disability,” and the exploding potential of people with disabilities. A wheelchair user following a spinal cord injury he incurred in 1973 at the age of 18, Gary is an author and speaker with three books to his name. He has written extensively as a disability journalist and blogger, and speaks to a wide array of audiences across the U.S. for universities, rehab centers, business, government, and conferences, where he is known for his passion, clarity, and humor — as well as his dazzling juggling skills! In 2007 Gary was honored with his induction into the Spinal Cord Injury Hall of Fame as a disability educator.
